The Learning Labs at GCPL are library maker spaces built to create, collaborate, share digital content, and work with traditional media. At the Labs, library card holders can explore video editing, audio editing, graphic design, sewing, 3D printing, CNC Carving projects and more.
In my role as a Learning Lab Specialist at the Learning Lab, my main duties are to assist library patrons with learning maker and digital skills, manage room reservations and lead, schedule and create meaningful workshops for my department. In addition, I assist and lead in the coordination of major department-wide events such as the GCPL Photo Annual - an international photography exhibition that creates and supports relationships between local artists and guest jurors who are often photographers themselves.
